Lahore, December 5, 2025: Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, on Friday claimed that the incarcerated PTI chief has warned authorities that “if governor’s rule is imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, then see what happens.”
Speaking to the media outside the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Aleema Khan alleged that Imran Khan is being kept in solitary confinement and is facing torture. She said, “Imran Khan is the voice of the people, and they are trying to silence that voice.”
She added that the PTI founder had told the family he would “never bow before tyranny,” and claimed his supporters would also stand firm. Aleema alleged that her sister Noreen Niazi was tortured and Uzma Rani was dragged and thrown into a police van on the orders of SHO Gulnaz. “He has set an example that one must fear only Allah,” she said.
Aleema Khan called on the people to stand with her brother, saying, “We could easily sit at home, but our brother is standing for Pakistan’s future, and now the people must also stand up.” She reiterated Imran’s warning: “Impose governor’s rule in KP and then see what happens. The entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stands with PTI. Removing elected representatives to install your own man is dictatorship. If you bring dictatorship, unrest will spread — and that is exactly what they want.”
She also raised concerns over restricted visits, saying six people are scheduled to meet Imran on Tuesday and questioning, “Under what law are they stopping us from meeting him? We are not afraid of their threats.”
Aleema further criticised authorities for what she called excessive security protocols, saying, “They roam around with heavy protocol. Let them come and sit alone like us. They talk about dealing with us — then deal with us personally. Sitting on a stolen mandate, they tell us we cannot meet our brother.”
The Lahore ATC has extended interim bail for Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, Asad Umar, and others in the May 9 arson cases. The hearing was presided over by Judge Arshad Javed, with the accused present in court.
The prosecution submitted case records, and the court also granted one-day exemption to Fawad Chaudhry. Arguments will continue at the next hearing, and interim bail has been extended until January 16, 2026.
The accused face charges related to the burning of a PML-N office and setting a container on fire at Kalma Chowk on May 9.
