Lahore, December 10, 2025: The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has approved the inclusion of Pakistan’s national women’s football team in the FIFA Series, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) announced on Wednesday.
According to the PFF, the development marks the beginning of a new era for the national women’s side, as participation in the FIFA Series will provide the team with much-needed international exposure and competitive experience.
“Inclusion in the FIFA Series is a recognition of the growing development of women’s football in Pakistan. It is a new era for the Pakistan women’s football team,” the federation said in a statement.
“The FIFA Series will allow players to compete at the international level and gain valuable experience.”
The FIFA Series is scheduled to be held in March–April next year, with matches set to take place in Brazil, Ivory Coast and Thailand. The groups for the event are expected to be announced in the early part of 2026.
Pakistan women’s team’s inclusion follows a meeting between PFF President Mohsen Gilani and FIFA President Gianni Infantino on the sidelines of the Club World Cup held in June this year. During the meeting, discussions focused on the development of women’s football in Pakistan, as well as the potential participation of the men’s national team in the FIFA Series.
“We touched upon key topics such as the development of the women’s football team and the men’s team potentially participating in next year’s FIFA Series,” Infantino was quoted as saying.
He also expressed confidence in the PFF leadership, saying, “President Gilani brings significant experience and football management know-how to the role, and I look forward to seeing our game take positive strides under his leadership.”
