Rawalpindi, October 24, 2024: Imran Khan, former Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has strongly criticized the recently passed 26th Constitutional Amendment, which grants parliamentarians the power to appoint the Chief Justice of Pakistan, calling it an “assault on the Constitution.” Khan shared these views during a meeting with his legal team at Adiala Jail today.

Following the meeting, PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry briefed reporters, stating that Khan expressed deep concern over the amendment. “Imran Khan called it an act of tyranny against the people,” Chaudhry said, adding that Khan chose not to comment on the appointment of Justice Yahya Afridi as the next Chief Justice of Pakistan.

Khan also commended PTI workers and supporters for their dedication and sacrifices. “He remains resolute in the face of adversity,” Chaudhry remarked.

According to the lawyer, Khan is being held in a small 6×8 cell and has been subjected to psychological pressure. “We plan to file a petition with the Islamabad High Court to challenge the conditions of his detention,” Chaudhry confirmed.

Additionally, Khan has instructed PTI leaders to take charge and lead the movement from the front.
