Islamabad, December 29, 2025: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday chaired a high-level briefing session to review preparations for the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Switzerland to attend the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), scheduled to be held from January 19 to 23, 2026, in Davos-Klosters.
The briefing was attended by the Foreign Secretary, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to Geneva, and other senior officials, who apprised the Deputy Prime Minister of the ongoing preparations, the tentative program, and the agenda of the WEF meeting. The bilateral component of the visit, as well as extensive media engagements planned on the sidelines of the forum, were also discussed in detail.
During the meeting, Senator Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of maximizing Pakistan’s engagement with visiting heads of state and government, as well as senior leadership from global economic, business, and financial institutions attending the forum. He directed officials to ensure that the visit is leveraged to advance Pakistan’s economic diplomacy.
The Deputy Prime Minister further stressed that concrete opportunities should be explored to strengthen collaboration with private sector business entities, attract investment, and project Pakistan’s economic potential on the global stage during the Prime Minister’s participation in the WEF.
