Washington D.C., October 24, 2024: The U.S. Central Command’s quarterly magazine “Unipath” has lauded Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Syed Asim Munir, for his resolute stance against violent extremism. The article described him as a leader deeply committed to Pakistan’s security, stability, and prosperity.

Highlighting General Munir’s military background and counterterrorism efforts, the piece underscored his leadership in addressing terrorism, fifth-generation warfare, foreign aggression, and socio-economic challenges. The article praised his decisive actions in leading 22,409 intelligence-based operations against extremist groups, referred to as Fitna al Khawarij, resulting in the elimination of 398 terrorists.

The magazine quoted General Munir, emphasizing that terrorists must submit to the state’s authority, and Pakistan remains determined to dismantle terrorist networks to protect its citizens. It also stressed the Army Chief’s focus on preparing the armed forces to tackle the challenges of fifth-generation warfare.

On the socio-economic front, the article noted General Munir’s support for the government’s Special Investment Facilitation Council and the Green Pakistan Initiative, aimed at creating jobs and fostering economic growth. His efforts toward promoting interfaith harmony and protecting minority rights were also recognized, with Unipath highlighting his condemnation of intolerance.

The article further commended General Munir’s military diplomacy, noting strengthened military and diplomatic ties with countries like the United States and joint military exercises with other nations.

“Unipath” serves as a professional military forum for personnel in the Middle East, South Asia, and Central Asia, published quarterly by the U.S. Central Command.
