Lahore, January 7, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday paid rich tribute to the distinguished social and political services of former Chief Minister of Punjab, the late Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo.
The Chairman Senate visited the residence of the late leader, offered Fateha, and expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the departed soul a high place in Jannah and to bless the family with patience and fortitude in this hour of grief.
During the visit, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani conveyed deep sympathies on behalf of the Senate of Pakistan and acknowledged the outstanding contributions of Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo to national and provincial politics, public service, and the strengthening of democratic institutions.
On the occasion, the Chairman Senate also held a detailed discussion with the family members on the prevailing political situation in the country and the evolving political landscape in Punjab. Issues related to governance, public representation, and further consolidation of democratic institutions were discussed in a constructive manner.
Emphasizing the need for political dialogue and stability, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that political maturity, cooperation, and collective responsibility among all stakeholders are essential to address national challenges, ensure democratic continuity, and safeguard the interests of the people.
