Chinese Ambassador calls on NA Speaker, reaffirms Pakistan–China strategic partnership

Islamabad, January 14, 2026: Ambassador of the China to Pakistan, Mr. Jiang Zaidong, on Wednesday called on Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, at the Parliament House in Islamabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq described China as Pakistan’s closest and most reliable friend, stating that China has always stood by Pakistan in times of need. He expressed pride in the all-weather and enduring friendship between the two countries and appreciated the close cooperation in the economic and defence sectors. He noted that Pakistan–China relations are founded on mutual trust and respect, reaffirming that both countries are strategic partners.

The NA Speaker further said that Pakistan and China have consistently stood shoulder to shoulder during challenging times, adding that bilateral defence cooperation plays a vital role in promoting sustainable peace and stability in the region.

Recalling his previous tenure as Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that President Xi Jinping’s address to a joint sitting of the Parliament of Pakistan remains a great honour for the Pakistani Parliament.

Chinese Ambassador Mr. Jiang Zaidong appreciated the Speaker’s positive remarks about China and said that the peoples of Pakistan and China are bound by strong and enduring bonds of friendship. He added that the strategic partnership between the two countries continues to grow stronger with each passing day.
