Islamabad, January 30, 2026: Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Prudence Sebahizi, called on Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Mr. Jam Kamal Khan, during his official visit to Islamabad, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepen bilateral trade ties.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation across key sectors, including agro-manufacturing, food security, textiles, leather, automotive, electronics, healthcare, and agricultural technology. The ministers discussed practical pathways to boost trade volumes and encourage private-sector linkages.

Highlighting their respective strategic positions, the two sides noted Pakistan’s role as a gateway to Central Asia and Rwanda’s emergence as a regional hub under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). They agreed to fast-track the Trade Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and explore concrete opportunities in leather and manufacturing, agro-processing, and healthcare equipment.

Both ministers expressed confidence that strengthened institutional collaboration and targeted sectoral partnerships would unlock new avenues for mutually beneficial trade and investment.
