Islamabad, February 5, 2026: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev upon his arrival in Pakistan on an official visit at Noor Khan Airbase on Thursday.
At the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Mirziyoyev is leading a high-level delegation comprising senior cabinet ministers and prominent business leaders on a two-day state visit to Pakistan from February 5 to 6, 2026.
During the visit, the Uzbek president will hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari, engage in delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and address the Pakistan–Uzbekistan Business Forum. The discussions are expected to focus on a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and the exploration of new avenues for cooperation in key areas including trade, energy, defence, education, people-to-people exchanges, and regional connectivity.
This is President Mirziyoyev’s second visit to Pakistan, underscoring the positive momentum in Pakistan–Uzbekistan relations and the enduring brotherly ties between the two countries. The relationship is rooted in shared history, cultural affinity, and common aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity in Central and South Asia.
