Rawalpindi, February 6, 2026: Pakistan’s security forces killed at least 24 militants during two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa earlier this week, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operations were conducted on February 4 and 5 after reports of the presence of militants described as “Indian proxy Fitna Al Khwarij.”

In the first operation, security forces targeted a militant hideout in Orakzai District. Troops effectively engaged the location, and following an intense exchange of fire, 14 militants were killed.

A second intelligence-based operation was carried out in Khyber District, where security personnel neutralized 10 more militants during a firefight, the statement added.

The ISPR said sanitization operations are ongoing in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants.

It further reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, will continue their counterterrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy—approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan—to eradicate what it termed foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
