Dubai, February 7, 2026: Shafqat Ali Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates, met with Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, during his visit to Dubai to discuss avenues for deepening bilateral relations with the UAE.
Chairman Senate Gillani lauded the Ambassador’s efforts in promoting close cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, economic engagement, and people-to-people contacts as pillars of the bilateral relationship. He noted that enhanced interaction between parliamentary institutions can complement executive-level initiatives and contribute to long-term strategic collaboration.
During the meeting, Ambassador Khan briefed the Chairman on ongoing initiatives to boost trade, investment, and broader economic cooperation between the two countries, reaffirming the UAE’s continued interest in strengthening partnerships across multiple sectors of mutual interest.
The Chairman also acknowledged the constructive role of the Pakistani diaspora in the UAE, highlighting that strong people-to-people ties remain a vital element of the enduring friendship between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
