Islamabad, February 19, 2026: President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Atif Ikram Sheikh, has warmly welcomed the issuance of the DLTL (Drawback of Local Taxes and Levies) notification, expressing sincere gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for addressing the longstanding concerns of the rice exporting community.

In a statement, he said the development was made possible after continuous efforts, persistent engagement, and constructive dialogue between FPCCI and the relevant government authorities. He acknowledged the government’s positive and responsive approach in recognizing the genuine demands of exporters and facilitating the growth of Pakistan’s export sector.

Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, along with Mr. Karim Aziz, emphasized that the timely issuance of the notification would provide much-needed financial relief to rice exporters, improve their liquidity position, and enhance Pakistan’s competitiveness in international markets.

They noted that the rice sector remains a vital contributor to national exports and plays a significant role in earning valuable foreign exchange for the country.

The FPCCI president extended heartfelt congratulations to rice exporters across Pakistan on what he termed a significant achievement, appreciating their resilience, commitment, and contribution to the national economy.

He reiterated that FPCCI would continue to raise the voice of the business community at every forum and work closely with policymakers to ensure sustainable export growth and economic stability.

FPCCI, he added, remains committed to supporting all sectors of the economy and advancing policies that promote trade, industry, and investment for a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan.
