Dar meets UK Foreign Secretary in New York, discusses bilateral ties and regional issues

New York, February 19, 2026: On the sidelines of the high-level United Nations Security Council meeting on Palestine in New York, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Affairs of the United Kingdom. Senator Dar expressed appreciation to the UK Secretary for convening the important briefing.

During the meeting, both leaders reviewed Pakistan–UK relations and highlighted the importance of sustained high-level engagement. They agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors, including enhanced people-to-people exchanges.

The discussion also covered key regional and international developments, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to dialogue, multilateralism, and effective cooperation, particularly within the framework of the United Nations.
