Manila, February 20, 2026: The second meeting of the Pakistan‑Philippines Joint Economic Commission was held in Manila, marking the first such engagement between the two countries in eight years.
During the meeting, both sides signed a joint protocol aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and deepening bilateral ties. The agreement provides for the establishment of a Working Group on Trade and a Steering Committee on Agriculture, designed to enhance collaboration in key economic sectors.
Officials said the revival of the Joint Economic Commission reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and the Philippines to expand trade, promote investment, and strengthen sector-specific cooperation, particularly in agriculture and commerce.
The meeting was seen as an important step toward revitalising bilateral economic engagement and creating new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships.
