Islamabad, February 21, 2026: Chairman Senate of Pakistan Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack carried out by Fitna Al-Khawarij against a security forces convoy in Bannu district.

In a statement, the Chairman Senate paid rich tribute to the unwavering courage and supreme sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies, stressing that their role in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and security will always be remembered. He reaffirmed that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces in the ongoing fight against terrorism.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani reiterated that decisive and effective operations against terrorist elements would continue until the complete eradication of militancy. He noted that the prompt and professional response by security forces, which led to the elimination of several terrorists, reflected their high level of preparedness and firm resolve to counter all threats to national security.

Expressing deep grief, the Chairman Senate offered heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the families of the martyred Lieutenant Colonel Shehzada Gul Faraz and Sepoy Karamat Shah. He prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and for patience and strength for the bereaved families.

He concluded by saying that the nation takes immense pride in the bravery, professionalism, and patriotism of its young soldiers, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to continue its determined struggle against terrorism to ensure lasting peace and stability.
