Lahore, February 22, 2026: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday announced that large-scale development projects worth billions of rupees in NA-120 will be completed by June 2026, transforming Lakhodair into a modern urban locality with upgraded civic infrastructure.

Addressing a ceremony in Lahore, the NA Speaker said that, in line with the directives of the Government of Punjab, record development work is underway across the constituency with substantial financial allocations. He said the construction of 175 streets and completion of a comprehensive sewerage system are in progress at a cost of Rs770 million, a move expected to significantly improve living standards in the area.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq noted that the introduction of an e-tendering system has resulted in savings of Rs200 million, which will also be utilized for additional local development initiatives. He added that overall projects worth approximately Rs38 billion across NA-120 are scheduled for completion by June 2026, assuring residents that no street or locality would be excluded from the development drive.

Commenting on national affairs, the NA Speaker said Pakistan is gradually moving from economic challenges toward stability while strengthening its international relations. He reiterated that Pakistan seeks peace and cooperation but would respond decisively to any aggression, stressing that national security remains non-negotiable.

He emphasized that the state and its citizens stand united against terrorism and that firm action against elements spreading instability will continue. He also renewed Pakistan’s call on Afghanistan to ensure its territory is not used for terrorist activities against Pakistan.

On political matters, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq dismissed reports regarding the medical examination of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as baseless, saying all arrangements were made strictly in accordance with legal procedures. He said the message of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was conveyed, while the availability of a doctor was facilitated in consultation with Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and former NA Speaker Asad Qaiser.

The NA Speaker said the government is taking practical measures to curb inflation, boost exports, and provide relief to the public. He added that development initiatives aimed at public welfare are being accelerated under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also announced that he would revisit the area after the completion of the projects to personally review progress and ensure the provision of modern, high-quality civic facilities for residents.
