Pakistan Envoy in Myanmar hosts pharma leaders to boost bilateral trade

Naypyidaw, February 23, 2026: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Myanmar Tariq Karim received Shafiq Ahmad Abbasi, Chairman of NovaMed Pharmaceuticals and Senior Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association, at the embassy in Naypyidaw.

Later, Ambassador Karim met Hnin Hnin Khaing, Chief Executive Officer of JDS Co., Ltd., during an event attended by representatives from both Pakistani and Myanmar pharmaceutical companies.

Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral trade and cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector. The ambassador underscored the significant potential for expanding trade volumes, fostering business partnerships, and promoting collaboration between companies in Pakistan and Myanmar. He also reaffirmed the embassy’s support in facilitating business-to-business linkages and investment initiatives.

During their visit, representatives of NovaMed Pharmaceuticals also held meetings with relevant local officials to explore regulatory and market opportunities in Myanmar’s pharmaceutical sector.
