Islamabad, March 2,2026: President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sardar Tahir Mehmood, has said that the spirit of Ramadan teaches compassion, generosity and service to humanity, and institutions working for the welfare of orphaned children reflect these noble values in their true essence.

Addressing an Iftar dinner hosted for the children of Pakistan Sweet Home, he urged the business community to generously participate in supporting and patronizing orphaned children by contributing to their education, health and character building. He said that these children are the future of Pakistan and, with proper guidance and opportunities, they can grow into doctors, engineers, bureaucrats and entrepreneurs who will play an important role in the country’s development.

Sardar Tahir Mehmood paid rich tribute to Zamurrad Khan, recipient of Hilal-e-Imtiaz, for his visionary leadership and tireless efforts in effectively running Pakistan Sweet Home and transforming it into one of the largest orphan care networks in Asia.  He highlighted that Pakistan Sweet Home is providing shelter, quality education and a nurturing environment to thousands of children. Hundreds of students of the institution have secured admission in leading universities including National University of Sciences and Technology, Quaid-i-Azam University and Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology as well as various medical colleges, which he described as a remarkable achievement.

Sardar Tahir Mehmood reaffirmed that the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue to support such welfare initiatives under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs and will work with the business community to strengthen philanthropic efforts for the better future of deserving children.
