Lahore, March 4, 2026: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) officially kicked off its countdown to the 11th edition with the unveiling of the tournament’s new logo. The design creatively incorporates the Urdu word for eleven (گیارہ) alongside the numeral “11,” highlighting the milestone season.
The league’s official X account shared the branding as preparations for the historic season enter their final stages. The tournament is scheduled to begin on March 26 at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium.
This year’s PSL will expand to eight teams for the first time. The opening fixture will see defending champions Lahore Qalandars face off against debutants Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, preceded by a colorful opening ceremony in Lahore.
In a major development, the franchise initially operating as Sialkot Stallionz has been officially rebranded as Multan Sultans. The change follows a strategic partnership and majority takeover by CD Ventures, with Gohar Shah appointed as the new CEO.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) approved the rebranding, which has increased the franchise’s valuation from Rs 1.85 billion to Rs 2 billion, marking the return of a team representing South Punjab.
Salman Naseer, Chief Executive Officer of the PSL, confirmed the opening match details while addressing the media alongside franchise representatives. He noted that the first leg of the tournament will be heavily centred in Lahore, with the full schedule expected to be released shortly.
Naseer also addressed speculation about hosting a PSL match overseas to engage the Pakistani diaspora, stating that discussions are ongoing as the league aims to solidify its status as a global cricket tournament.
The 11th edition of the PSL promises expanded competition, high-profile matchups, and a historic return for South Punjab’s franchise, setting the stage for a landmark season.
