Islamabad, March 5, 2026: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand on Thursday, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and evolving regional developments.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Pakistan), the two sides explored ways to further enhance economic cooperation across diverse sectors, including agriculture, clean energy and critical minerals, while also emphasizing the importance of strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.

During the conversation, Anand appreciated the positive role of the vibrant Pakistani diaspora in Canada in contributing to bilateral relations.

Both leaders underlined the importance of sustained high-level exchanges to maintain the positive momentum in engagement between Pakistan and Canada.

They also exchanged views on evolving regional developments, with Dar stressing the need for dialogue, diplomacy and adherence to international law to promote de-escalation and stability in the Middle East and the wider region.
