Karachi, March 14, 2026: Three-time champions Islamabad United on Saturday traded right-arm pacer Mohammad Wasim Jr to Multan Sultans in exchange for fellow seamer Salman Mirza and emerging batter Nisar Ahmed ahead of the highly anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11.

The upcoming PSL season is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3.

Wasim Jr, who was released by Quetta Gladiators before the historic players’ auction, had been picked by Islamabad United in the Released Bowlers category for Rs41 million. However, the franchise has now traded the 24-year-old pacer to Multan Sultans as part of a squad reshuffle.

In return, United acquired Salman Mirza, who had been retained in the Diamond category by the Sultans — formerly known as Sialkot Stallionz — for Rs39.2 million. To balance the salary cap difference between the two players, Islamabad United also secured the services of emerging batter Nisar Ahmed for Rs6 million.

“We wish Wasim the very best of luck at Multan Sultans as we welcome Salman Mirza and Nisar Ahmed,” Islamabad United said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, while sharing a graphic announcing the trade.

The move marks the second trade involving Multan Sultans ahead of PSL 11. Earlier, the franchise acquired Ahmed Daniyal and Jahanzaib Sultan from Quetta Gladiators in exchange for Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas.

Daniyal had been retained in the Gold category by Multan Sultans ahead of the players’ auction, while Jahanzaib was signed during the auction for Rs6 million.

Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators had picked Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas for Rs12.5 million and Rs11 million, respectively, during the same auction process.
