Islamabad, March 31, 2026: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq held a meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), at his residence in Islamabad on Tuesday, where both leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and key parliamentary matters.

During the meeting, the two leaders underscored the importance of strengthening the legislative process and enhancing the effectiveness of Parliament. They also exchanged views on promoting national unity, democratic stability, and political harmony in the country.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that consultation and cooperation among political leadership are vital to address the challenges currently faced by Pakistan. He noted that improved coordination among political parties is essential in safeguarding national interests.

The Speaker stressed the need for a unified national strategy and urged all parliamentary parties to play an active role in addressing pressing national issues. He highlighted that Pakistan continues to play a proactive role in the evolving situation in the Middle East, requiring cohesive political engagement at home.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman appreciated the Speaker’s role as custodian of the House and acknowledged the importance of Parliament in navigating the current regional landscape. He emphasized that Parliament must remain central in addressing ongoing challenges.

He also commended Pakistan’s role in the ongoing regional tensions, including the Israel-Iran conflict, and stressed that, given the rapidly changing dynamics, it is crucial to take Parliament into confidence when making key national decisions.
