Rawalpindi, April 1, 2026: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday announced that security forces killed 13 militants in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the military’s media wing, the operations were carried out on March 30 following reports of the presence of militants described as “khwarij,” allegedly linked to what ISPR termed “Indian proxy Fitna Al Khwarij.”

In the first operation, conducted in the Bara area of Khyber District, security forces engaged the militants’ hideout after confirming their presence through intelligence. Following an intense exchange of fire, 10 militants were killed.

In a separate operation in Bannu District, three more militants were neutralised during a gun battle with security personnel.

The ISPR stated that sanitisation operations are ongoing in both areas to eliminate any remaining militants.

It further reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, will continue their counterterrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative—approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan—to eradicate what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
