Multan, April 1,2026: Chairman Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, met a delegation of the newly elected office-bearers of the District Bar Association Multan, led by President Syeda Bushra Naqvi and General Secretary Malik Saadat Hussain.
The Chairman Senate congratulated the newly elected leadership, paying special tribute to Syeda Bushra Naqvi on becoming the first woman President in the history of the Multan District Bar. He termed her election a significant milestone not only for Multan but for the legal fraternity across the region.
During the meeting, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani emphasized that the Pakistan Peoples Party firmly believes in the supremacy of the Constitution and the strengthening of democracy, noting that the party has made enduring sacrifices to uphold these principles. He further stated that a harmonious relationship between the Bar and the Bench is essential for the effective delivery of justice.
He acknowledged the commendable role of the Multan District Bar in highlighting the issues of South Punjab and described the Bar as a historic and dignified institution that consistently adopts constitutional and democratic means to address challenges. He assured the delegation of his continued support in resolving the issues faced by the legal community.
On this occasion, the delegation invited the Chairman Senate to visit the Multan District Bar and address the lawyers. Accepting the invitation, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani assured that he would soon visit the Bar, interact with the legal fraternity, and make every possible effort to facilitate funding for the institution.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem, Joint Secretary Nagina Muzaffar Hiraj, Finance Secretary Rauf Ahmed Khan, Library Secretary Amara Tahir Baloch, Auditor Jehanzeb Sial, PLF leader Nasheed Arif Gondal, along with Rana Javed Akhtar, Zawar Qureshi, Ahad Gondal, Executive Members Muhammad Shan Sahu, Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Nadeemuddin Qureshi, Adil Ahmed Khalid, Chaudhry Muhammad Ahsan Bhatti, Muhammad Mudassar Hassan, Malik Muneer Ahmed, and Assistant Attorney Firdous Jamal.
