Pakistan, China reaffirm support for diplomacy as Dar meets Chinese Envoy

Islamabad, April 8, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday met with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong to discuss ongoing regional developments and diplomatic efforts for peace.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on Pakistan’s continued engagement to promote dialogue and diplomatic solutions in the Middle East and West Asia amid heightened tensions.

During the meeting, Dar underscored Pakistan’s firm commitment to diplomacy as the primary means for achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.

Ambassador Jiang conveyed the Chinese government’s deep appreciation for Pakistan’s constructive and proactive role in advancing peace and security, particularly in the Middle East and the Gulf region.

Both sides expressed hope that ongoing diplomatic efforts would yield durable peace and stability, reaffirming their shared interest in regional security and cooperation.

The meeting reflects close coordination between Islamabad and Beijing as Pakistan intensifies its diplomatic outreach to facilitate dialogue and de-escalation among key regional and global stakeholders.
