Pakistan, Saudi Arabia call for strict adherence to Lebanon ceasefire

Islamabad, April 9, 2026: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a late-night telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to discuss the latest regional developments, particularly the situation in Lebanon.

According to a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both leaders expressed deep concern over reported ceasefire violations in Lebanon. They underscored the urgent need for full respect and effective implementation of the ceasefire to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.

During the conversation, Senator Ishaq Dar appreciated Saudi Arabia for its continued support of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability. He acknowledged the Kingdom’s constructive role in fostering dialogue and de-escalation.

The two foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and agreed to remain in close contact on evolving regional developments.

The exchange reflects Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic engagement and its commitment to promoting peace through dialogue and international cooperation.
