ASEAN envoys convene in Islamabad to strengthen regional ties

Islamabad, April 10, 2026: The Ambassador of the Philippines to Pakistan, Emmanuel R. Fernandez, attended a welcome luncheon hosted by the Ambassador of Indonesia, Chandra Warsenanto Sukotjo, in honour of Singapore’s newly appointed Non-Resident High Commissioner, Ishak Ismail, in Islamabad.

The gathering brought together ambassadors and representatives from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), providing a platform to strengthen regional camaraderie, enhance diplomatic dialogue, and promote cooperation among member states.

The event underscored the importance of fostering closer ties within the ASEAN community and reinforcing mutual understanding through diplomatic engagement in Pakistan.

Ambassador Fernandez’s participation reflected the Philippines’ continued commitment to ASEAN solidarity, proactive diplomacy, and stronger regional partnerships.

The luncheon also highlighted the growing presence and collaboration of ASEAN missions in Islamabad, aimed at deepening engagement with Pakistan and advancing shared interests in trade, culture, and regional stability.
