Islamabad, April 16, 2026: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan held an important meeting with Muhammad Munir Afsar, Chairman National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in Islamabad, where matters of mutual interest, institutional performance, and public service delivery were discussed in detail.
During the meeting, the Chairman NADRA briefed the Deputy Chairman Senate on ongoing projects, digital transformation initiatives, and improvements in the national registration system.
The Deputy Chairman Senate appreciated NADRA’s overall performance, noting that the institution is providing increasingly efficient citizen services through the use of modern technology. He also commended the leadership and professional expertise of the Chairman NADRA, stating that under his guidance, the organization has gained notable international recognition, including securing global contracts.
Senator Syedal Khan particularly highlighted the difficulties faced by citizens in Balochistan in obtaining national identity cards. He observed that people in remote and underdeveloped regions continue to face challenges in accessing registration facilities, calling for urgent and effective measures to address the issue.
He stressed the need to further strengthen NADRA registration centres in Balochistan and other remote areas, expand mobile registration units, and ensure greater facilitation for citizens so that all eligible individuals can obtain identity documents without delay.
The Deputy Chairman Senate emphasized that NADRA should continue to leverage modern technology to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility, with special focus on vulnerable and underserved communities.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration and improving public service delivery through institutional reforms and technological innovation.
