Rawalpindi, April 18, 2026: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Force (CDF), along with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a high-level delegation, has concluded a three-day official visit to Iran.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the visit, the Field Marshal called on Masoud Pezeshkian and held separate meetings with senior Iranian leadership, including Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Ali Abdollahi.
The discussions focused on promoting sustainable peace in the region, with particular emphasis on the evolving security environment, ongoing diplomatic engagements, and collaborative measures aimed at ensuring long-term stability.
Field Marshal Asim Munir underscored the importance of dialogue, de-escalation, and peaceful resolution of outstanding issues through sustained diplomatic efforts. He also expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Iranian leadership and people.
He conveyed best wishes from the leadership and people of Pakistan, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening its historic and brotherly ties with Iran.
The visit reflects Pakistan’s continued efforts to support a negotiated settlement to ongoing tensions in the Middle East and its broader commitment to promoting regional peace, stability, and prosperity
