Dar, Canadian FM discuss regional situation, stress need for lasting peace

Islamabad, April 19, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Anita Anand, Foreign Minister of Canada, on Sunday evening, during which both leaders reviewed ongoing regional developments.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anand appreciated and expressed support for Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote sustained dialogue and constructive engagement among concerned parties.

The two sides also expressed hope for achieving lasting peace and a durable ceasefire across the region, including in Lebanon, while reaffirming their commitment to broader regional stability and cooperation.

The conversation reflects continued diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Canada on key international issues, with both countries emphasizing the importance of dialogue in resolving conflicts.
