Karachi, April 28, 2026: Babar Azam added another milestone to his illustrious career on Tuesday, becoming the first batter in Pakistan Super League history to score 500 runs in a single season for the fourth time.
The Peshawar Zalmi skipper achieved the landmark during the PSL 11 Qualifier against Islamabad United at the National Bank Stadium.
Babar entered the match with 485 runs in 10 innings and crossed the 500-run mark in style in the third over, dispatching Richard Gleeson for a boundary.
With this feat, Babar surpassed Mohammad Rizwan, who has recorded three 500-plus seasons for Multan Sultans.
Babar first breached the 500-run mark in 2021 while representing Karachi Kings. His other three 500-plus seasons have come with Peshawar Zalmi, underlining his consistency at the top level.
Apart from Babar and Rizwan, only Fakhar Zaman of Lahore Qalandars and Zalmi’s Kusal Mendis have crossed the 500-run mark in a single PSL edition.
