Multan, April 29, 2026: A high-level delegation of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) called on Acting President Yusuf Raza Gilani at Gilani House in Multan on Wednesday, where discussions focused on national security and technological advancement in the defence sector.
The delegation included Air Marshal Kashif Qamar, Air Vice Marshal Burhan Aziz, Air Vice Marshal Liaquatullah Iqbal, and Group Captain Bilal Ahmed.
During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on strengthening national defence capabilities, with particular emphasis on initiatives under the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP). Key areas included research and development (R&D), innovation, and enhancing self-reliance in defence production.
The participants stressed the importance of greater collaboration and institutional coordination among national organisations in light of evolving security challenges.
Acting President Gilani lauded the professionalism, operational readiness, and critical role of the PAF in safeguarding the country. He emphasised that the armed forces remain a cornerstone of national security and underscored the need to continuously upgrade defence capabilities to meet modern-day requirements.
The meeting was also attended by several political and administrative figures, including Rana Mahmoodul Hassan, Syed Ali Qasim Gilani, Syed Ali Haider Gilani, Rana Iqbal Siraj, Commissioner Multan Amir Karim Khan, Multan Chamber of Commerce President Bakhtawar Amin, Ahmed Mujtaba Gilani, and Dr. Shazaib Malik.
