Tajikistan ambassador meets DG PCRWR

Islamabad, May 6,2026: Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan, Mr. Yusuf Sharifzoda, held a meeting with Dr. Hifza Rasheed, Director General of the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR).

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to strengthening bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan in the areas of water resource management, improvement of water quality, scientific research, and the exchange of expertise among sectoral specialists.

They also emphasized the importance of enhancing institutional cooperation and developing joint scientific research projects.

The Ambassador of Tajikistan invited Dr. Hifza Rasheed to participate in the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018–2028, to be held on May 25–28, 2026, in Dushanbe.

The parties expressed confidence that the outcomes of the meeting would contribute to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the water sector and to the sustainable development of natural resources.
