Islamabad, June 1, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Monday welcomed the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.

Kallas is visiting Pakistan to participate in the 8th Pakistan-European Union Strategic Dialogue, which she will co-chair alongside Dar. The high-level engagement reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and the European Union to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across a wide range of areas of mutual interest.

The Strategic Dialogue serves as the principal forum for reviewing the progress of Pakistan-EU relations and exploring new avenues of collaboration in political, economic, trade, development, climate, and regional affairs.

Officials from both sides are expected to discuss key regional and international developments, while reaffirming their commitment to deepening engagement and promoting mutually beneficial partnerships.

The European Union remains one of Pakistan’s most important economic and development partners, with both sides maintaining close cooperation through various institutional mechanisms and frameworks.
