Rawalpindi, June 9, 2026: Commander-in-Chief of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Rodolphe Haykal, called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Force, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Haykal was presented a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent upon his arrival at GHQ.
During the meeting, the two military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional security environment, defence cooperation, and avenues for further strengthening bilateral military relations. The discussions particularly focused on enhancing professional interactions, training collaboration, and institutional linkages between the armed forces of Pakistan and Lebanon.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed the importance Pakistan attaches to its longstanding and cordial ties with Lebanon and underscored the Pakistan Army’s commitment to expanding defence cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces.
General Rodolphe Haykal lauded the professionalism and operational excellence of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their significant contributions to regional peace, stability, and international peacekeeping missions.
The visit reflects the shared resolve of both countries to deepen military-to-military cooperation and further strengthen defence ties between Pakistan and Lebanon.
