Pakistan, Switzerland welcome progress in US-Iran engagement

Islamabad, June 13, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis on Saturday, during which the two leaders discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, both ministers welcomed the encouraging progress toward an understanding between the United States and Iran and expressed optimism that the ongoing engagement would yield positive results in the near future.

The two leaders underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional challenges and fostering a peaceful environment conducive to stability and cooperation.

They also expressed hope that the current diplomatic efforts would contribute to lasting peace and stability across the region.

During the conversation, Pakistan and Switzerland reaffirmed their commitment to continued consultations and agreed to remain in close contact on matters of mutual interest.

The discussion reflects growing international support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and promoting constructive engagement in the region.
