Cairo, June 21, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, joined the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Egypt in a joint meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo on Sunday, where the leaders discussed regional developments, diplomatic efforts for peace, and the growing role of the four-nation R4 framework.
The meeting brought together Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty.
During the meeting, Senator Dar conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to President El-Sisi. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding, brotherly and multifaceted relations with Egypt.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted with appreciation the positive momentum generated through recent high-level exchanges between Islamabad and Cairo, saying that the engagements had contributed to expanding bilateral cooperation across a broad range of sectors.
He also welcomed President El-Sisi’s acceptance of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation to visit Pakistan and expressed hope that reciprocal leadership visits would take place at the earliest mutually convenient opportunity.
A significant part of the discussions focused on regional and international developments, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East. The leaders emphasized the importance of promoting peace, stability, dialogue and diplomatic engagement amid ongoing regional challenges.
President El-Sisi reciprocated the greetings conveyed by Pakistan’s leadership and praised Islamabad’s constructive and responsible role in advancing dialogue and de-escalation efforts in the region. He commended the contributions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir toward initiatives aimed at fostering regional peace and stability.
The Egyptian president expressed hope that ongoing diplomatic efforts and the next phase of negotiations in the region would contribute to lasting peace, security and prosperity across the broader Middle East.
The meeting also reviewed the consultations held among the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye under the emerging R4 framework. The participants highlighted the increasing importance of the grouping as a platform for structured dialogue, strategic consultation and policy coordination on issues of shared concern.
The four countries expressed confidence that continued engagement and collective diplomatic efforts would help promote regional stability, economic development and prosperity while advancing the common interests of their peoples.

The Cairo meeting came shortly after the fourth consultative meeting of the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, underscoring the group’s growing diplomatic relevance amid ongoing efforts to address regional crises and strengthen cooperation among key Muslim-majority nations.
