Islamabad, July 1, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday chaired the sixth meeting of the High-Level Committee overseeing preparations for the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, which Pakistan will host from July 12 to 13, 2026.
The meeting reviewed the final phase of preparations, including the draft programme, conference agenda, protocol, security and logistical arrangements, media and communication strategy, inter-ministerial coordination, and other organizational matters.
Participants discussed measures to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the conference, which is expected to bring together representatives from all 57 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to strengthen collaboration on women’s empowerment, inclusion, and sustainable development.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar appreciated the progress made by the Ministry of Human Rights in organizing the event and directed all relevant ministries and stakeholders to maintain close coordination and ensure the timely completion of the remaining preparations.
The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, Secretary for Human Rights Abdul Khaliq Shaikh, and other senior government officials.
