Islamabad, July 13, 2026: Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening parliamentary engagement and expanding cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education and human rights during a meeting at Parliament House.

Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, MNA and Convener of the Pakistan–Bosnia and Herzegovina Parliamentary Friendship Group, met with a visiting delegation led by Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Human Rights and Refugees, Dr. Sevlid Hurtić, at the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus.

The Bosnian delegation, which included Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Pakistan Emin Cohodarevic, is visiting Pakistan to participate in the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women.

Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Nikhat highlighted the longstanding and friendly ties between Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, describing the relationship as one built on mutual respect, shared values and historic solidarity. She recalled Pakistan’s unwavering support for Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed confidence that enhanced parliamentary engagement would further strengthen bilateral relations.

She also underscored the importance of expanding cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education and people-to-people exchanges, while reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration.

Paying tribute to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, Dr. Nikhat reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to justice, accountability and preventing such tragedies from recurring.

Dr. Hurtić thanked the Pakistani side for the warm welcome and appreciated Pakistan’s longstanding friendship and support for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He stressed the need to translate the strong political goodwill between the two countries into practical cooperation through increased parliamentary exchanges, stronger economic and business linkages, tourism, educational collaboration and cooperation on human rights.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their resolve to further strengthen Pakistan-Bosnia and Herzegovina relations through closer parliamentary cooperation and expanded collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
