Karachi, July 16,2026: The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan, Mr. Chandra Warsenanto Sukotjo, with his spouse, Mrs. Tamara Yuanita Sukotjo, accompanied by the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi and with others diplomats of his country paid a courtesy call on the Ms. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, the First Lady of Pakistan, at Bilawal House.
the First Lady extended her warmest welcome to the Indonesian delegation to Karachi, congratulating the Ambassador and the Consulate General on the successful organization of the recently concluded Pakistan-Indonesia Investment Forum.
The discussion fondly revisited the historic ties between Indonesia and Pakistan, specifically recalling the close personal friendship between Indonesia’s founding father, President Sukarno, and the First Lady’s grandfather, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto—a legacy of Asian-African solidarity that continues to inspire current diplomatic and people-to-people relations.
The meeting also served as a strategic platform to explore expanded cooperation in key sectors of mutual interest, particularly in Sindh province. Both sides discussed intensifying agricultural trade, reviving the Government-to-Government rice cooperation framework, and enhancing collaboration in healthcare, vaccine development, and family planning. Reaffirming Indonesia’s commitment to Sindh’s economic and agricultural potential, the Ambassador presented the First Lady with a commemorative publication curated to depict the rich, visual timeline of Indonesia-Pakistan relations, symbolizing the Consulate’s ongoing devotion to cultivating a flourishing bilateral partnership.
