Tajikistan Ambassador meets Coordinator General of COMSTECH

Islamabad, July 30,2026: The Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Yusuf Sharifzoda, held a meeting with Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMSTECH).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and COMSTECH within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

They also exchanged views on expanding collaboration in the fields of science, technology, innovation, education, scientific research, and the training of highly qualified specialists.

The Ambassador reaffirmed Tajikistan’s interest in strengthening cooperation with COMSTECH, emphasizing that the development of science, technology, and innovation is among the key priorities of the country’s state policy.

He noted that enhanced cooperation in these areas could make a meaningful contribution to the sustainable development of the OIC Member States.

For his part, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary expressed COMSTECH’s readiness to further expand cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan and highly appreciated the country’s scientific and educational potential. The parties also discussed the implementation of joint scientific research programmes, exchanges of researchers and students, the organization of professional training courses, seminars, and international conferences, as well as the effective utilization of COMSTECH’s opportunities to strengthen scientific and technological capacities in the OIC Member States.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the friendly relations between Tajikistan and COMSTECH and reaffirmed their commitment to further developing cooperation in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
