Tel Aviv, November 20, 2024-Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced a $5 million reward for anyone who aids in the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

The announcement was made during Netanyahu’s visit to the Gaza border, where he inspected the Netzarim Corridor, a strategic military route dividing northern and southern Gaza. In addition to the financial incentive, Netanyahu assured a safe exit for those who assist in freeing the captives.

“To those who want to leave this entanglement, I say: Whoever brings us a hostage will find a safe way out for himself and his family. We will also give $5 million for every hostage,” Netanyahu declared.

The reward offer comes amid escalating domestic pressure, as mass protests in Israel call for urgent government action to secure the release of hostages. Families of captives have urged Netanyahu to consider a ceasefire deal, but the Prime Minister has insisted that military action remains the only viable solution.

Defense officials, however, have reportedly warned Netanyahu that a negotiated ceasefire may be the only effective strategy to rescue hostages alive. Israel estimates that 101 individuals remain captive in Gaza, though approximately one-third are believed to have died.
