Islamabad August 09(Sub News)The Royal Thai Embassy in Pakistan, in collaboration with Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH), commemorated the Birthday of His Majesty the King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of Thailand by organizing a Free Health Screening Medical Camp, bringing quality healthcare services for free to hundreds of underserved residents access to medical consultations and check-ups they might otherwise be unable to afford.
The one-day medical camp attracted hundreds of people who received consultations across multiple specialties, including general medicine, breast health, and diet and nutrition, along with screening and diagnostic services and free medicines, all under one roof.
His Excellency Rongvudhi Virabutr, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Pakistan, along with a delegation of Thai Embassy, visited the camp and interacted with patients, doctors, healthcare professionals and volunteers. He was received by Yasir Khan Niazi, Group Chief Executive Officer of GAK HealthCare International, and Dr. Areej Neyazi, Director of Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, along with the hospital’s senior management.
The Ambassador toured the consultation, screening and diagnostic facilities, met patients and appreciated the dedication of doctors, healthcare professionals and volunteer students from Islamabad Medical & Dental College, who played an important role in guiding patients and facilitating the smooth conduct of the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Virabutr thanked Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, its management and healthcare professionals for partnering with the Royal Thai Embassy in organizing the humanitarian initiative. He said commemorating His Majesty the King’s Birthday through service to the community reflected the values of compassion, goodwill and friendship that continue to strengthen the longstanding relations between Thailand and Pakistan. He also commended the professionalism and dedication of the doctors, healthcare teams and volunteers whose collective efforts made the medical camp a success.
Yasir Niazi said that, “Healthcare has the unique ability to bring nations together through compassion and service. Pakistan and Thailand enjoy warm and longstanding relations, and there remains significant untapped potential for collaboration in healthcare, medical education, public health, clinical training, research and knowledge exchange. We are grateful to the Royal Thai Embassy for commemorating this special national occasion through an initiative that has directly benefited hundreds of deserving patients while further strengthening the bonds of friendship between our two countries,” he said.
He added that Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital remained committed to supporting initiatives that expand access to quality healthcare, promote community well-being and advance international cooperation for the benefit of the people.
Hundreds of patients expressed appreciation after receiving free medical consultations, diagnostic services and medicines. Many described the camp as timely and beneficial, particularly for families who often face financial barriers in accessing preventive healthcare.
The organizers expressed hope that such collaborative initiatives would continue to improve community health, promote stronger people-to-people engagement and further deepen Thailand-Pakistan cooperation in the healthcare sector.
