Islamabad, November 21, 2024 – The federal interior ministry has directed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Secretary to ensure that no state machinery, equipment, or funds are used for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally scheduled for November 24.

The directive follows a call by PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan for a protest on Sunday. Khan has described the rally as a “final call” against what he terms a stolen mandate, the unjust arrests of individuals, and the recent passage of the 26th Constitutional Amendment, which he claims has bolstered a “dictatorial regime.” In a letter addressed to KP Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, the ministry emphasized the need to ensure that the KP government refrains from using public resources for political activities.

The letter, titled “Protest Call on November 24,” specifically identified the PTI as the event organizer. It instructed Chaudhry to ensure that state resources, officials, and finances are not deployed to support the rally.
