Islamabad, September 12, 2026: Ambassador of Cuba to Pakistan Damián Cordero Torres held a meeting with a delegation of the Zhob Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZCCI) to explore opportunities for promoting economic relations and commercial exchanges between Pakistan and Cuba.
During the meeting, ZCCI President Asfandyar Khan Mandokhail expressed interest in introducing products from Zhob and other parts of northern Balochistan to the Cuban market.
He also sought information about Cuban products and expressed interest in reviewing Cuba’s export catalogue and exploring an exchange of business delegations with his Cuban counterpart.
The Cuban ambassador briefed the delegation on emerging business opportunities in Cuba following the approval of 176 measures aimed at economic recovery and attracting foreign markets through faster and secure procedures.
Ambassador Torres also briefed the business representatives on the challenges facing Cuba due to what he described as the intensified and multidimensional US government blockade against the island. He expressed confidence in Cuba’s ability and resilience to overcome these challenges.
The Cuban diplomat welcomed the delegation’s interest in strengthening commercial ties and invited its members to participate in upcoming trade events in Cuba.
He also suggested arranging exploratory meetings between business representatives from Zhob and their Cuban counterparts to identify potential areas of cooperation.
