Islamabad, September 14, 2026: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) held a special awareness and facilitation session on income tax return filing at the National Press Club Islamabad on Monday to assist journalists and club members in understanding and completing the return-filing process.
FBR Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue Iqra Shaukat led the session, accompanied by Inspector Inland Revenue Muhammad Bilal Sharif Ansari and Uzma Naila Naz. Members of the National Press Club and representatives of the journalist community attended the session.
Briefing participants, Iqra Shaukat explained the process of filing income tax returns and guided them on the proper use of FBR’s online and digital services. She stressed the importance of providing accurate information and carefully completing the required steps to avoid errors or delays.
She said taxpayer awareness and facilitation were essential for building confidence in the tax system and improving voluntary compliance. She encouraged participants to use available digital facilities and seek assistance from FBR officials whenever they faced difficulties in filing their returns.
The session remained interactive, with journalists raising questions and sharing concerns about tax-return filing. Iqra Shaukat and her team responded to the queries and provided practical guidance according to the individual requirements of participants.
Inspector Inland Revenue Muhammad Bilal Sharif Ansari explained various aspects of the filing process and assisted participants in understanding the online system, while Uzma Naila Naz provided further guidance and addressed individual concerns.
The FBR team also provided one-on-one support to National Press Club members, enabling them to receive direct assistance with issues encountered while completing their income tax returns.
The session aimed to make tax filing simpler, clearer and more accessible for members of the journalist community and highlighted the importance of cooperation between public institutions and professional bodies in promoting awareness, transparency and responsible citizenship.
The initiative reflected FBR’s commitment to taxpayer facilitation and encouraging a stronger culture of voluntary tax compliance through awareness, guidance and digital support.
