Islamabad/Lahore, September 21, 2026: A talented Pakistan junior golf contingent has departed for Dhaka to participate in the 3rd APGC Bangladesh Junior Amateur Golf Championship 2026, scheduled to be held from September 23 to 26.
The team is participating under the auspices of the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) following a special invitation from the Bangladesh Golf Federation.
Before departure, the players, team officials and management attended a Pre-Departure Coordination Meeting in Lahore, where travel arrangements, documentation, team protocols and guidelines for international representation were finalized.
The eight-member squad comprises emerging golfers from leading clubs across the country. The team includes Jannat Aamer Jami of Indus Golf Club Attock, Muhammad Barik Ayub of PAF Islamabad Golf Club, Behzad Murtaza of Karachi Golf Club Karsaz and Nabeeha Nafees of Lahore Gymkhana Golf Club.
The squad is completed by Muhammad Musa Adil Waraich of Peshawar Golf Club, Mustafa Zubair of Margalla Greens Golf Club, Wareesha Shahid Malik of Islamabad Club Golf Course and Dua Farid Rao of PAF Risalpur Golf Club.
According to the PGF, participation in high-profile international junior competitions is an important component of its Junior Development Programme, which aims to provide young golfers with competitive exposure and opportunities to represent Pakistan at international events.
The programme was initiated by Malik Kamran after he completed his Game Development and High Performance Programme certification from the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) of Australia.
The PGF said the programme has also received international recognition. The R&A, the world governing body for golf, invited the federation to present its Junior Development Programme at the R&A Global Alliance Best Practices Exchange conference. Only three federations were selected to participate in the conference, with Malik Kamran representing Pakistan at the forum.
The PGF extended its best wishes to the delegation for a safe journey and successful participation, expressing confidence that the young golfers will demonstrate sportsmanship and represent Pakistan positively during the championship in Dhaka.
