New York, September 21,2026: Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf held talks with World Food Programme (WFP) Executive Director Cindy H. McCain on strengthening cooperation between Algeria and the UN agency.
The discussions focused on addressing humanitarian needs and supporting vulnerable communities amid escalating crises and their impact on food security, particularly in Africa and the Middle East.
The two sides also discussed the serious humanitarian challenges facing the WFP in Gaza, especially ahead of the approaching winter season.
They further reviewed WFP efforts to ensure an effective humanitarian response and continue providing essential assistance to Sahrawi refugees.
