Islamabad, November 26, 2024- The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced on Tuesday that any negotiations with the government would hinge on the release of its political prisoners and fulfillment of other demands. Meanwhile, protesters gathered at Islamabad’s D-Chowk for the party’s anticipated power show amid reports of intense tear gas shelling by security forces to disperse the crowd.

Addressing the workers, Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Ali Amin Gandapur reiterated PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s commitment to peaceful protests and adherence to the rule of law. Gandapur also cautioned attendees to stay vigilant against any disruptive elements that might provoke violence.

“We will remain steadfast and reach our planned destination,” he declared. Standing alongside Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan and wife of Imran Khan Bushra Bibi, Gandapur urged restraint, stating, “Until Imran Khan gives specific instructions, our primary responsibility is to protect him. We are peaceful and demand the right to hold a sit-in without disruption.”

The gathering underscores rising political tensions, with PTI pressing its demands while authorities maintain a heavy security presence to prevent escalation.
