Islamabad, October 11,2026: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia and other countries affected by the incident.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the speaker expressed profound grief over the reported loss of 12 civilian lives, including four Saudi nationals and citizens of Palestine, Bangladesh, Syria, the United States, Egypt, Jordan and Sudan. He also voiced concern over the hundreds of people reportedly injured in the attack.
On his own behalf and on behalf of Pakistan’s Parliament, Ayaz Sadiq extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the leadership and people of the affected countries.
He prayed for the highest ranks in Jannat-ul-Firdous for those who lost their lives and wished the injured a swift and complete recovery.
The speaker said the loss of innocent lives was deeply distressing and warned that such acts of violence posed a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
Strongly condemning the targeting of civilians and critical infrastructure, he termed such attacks unacceptable and a grave violation of international law, stressing the need to end violence to safeguard peace, security and stability in the region.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia, Ayaz Sadiq said the two countries enjoyed longstanding fraternal relations rooted in mutual trust, brotherhood and close defence ties.
He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kingdom in safeguarding its sovereignty, territorial integrity and security, while also expressing solidarity with the leadership and people of all other affected countries.
Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah also strongly condemned the attack and extended condolences to the bereaved families.
He conveyed his sympathies to the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia and other affected countries, prayed for the departed souls and the speedy recovery of the injured, and emphasized the importance of collective efforts to promote peace, security and stability in the region.
